SunnyMoney Progress April – June 2012
In April this year, SunnyMoney agreed a business plan in which we aim to sell 312,109 solar lights across Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya and Zambia (Compared with 51,811 last year). Quite a challenge, but this is what our BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) – to eradicate the kerosene light from Africa by the end of this decade – is all about.
So here’s a very quick update on how we’re getting on. Between April and June of this year, we forecast the sale of 35,354 solar lights. Here’s the good news…we’ve sold more than that. As you can see from the chart below, we sold 47,582 lights.
We’ve still got a long way to go, however: 264,527 lights by the end of March 2013…but we’ve made a great start and our teams have real momentum. We’ve made such a good start, in fact, that we’re looking for more working capital to help us get our hands on more solar lights. These are good problems to have and I look forward to updating you on our mid year progress soon.
Good luck! If more people set themselves BHAGs like SolarAid’s, the world would be a better place.

Wow, the chart you have shown is really good news. We all know how useful the solar lights in everyone’s life and we are looking forward to see progress again in here.
